1. What is your name? Travis 2. What is your age? 31 3. What is your general location? Atlanta 4. What is your preferred team? My preferred team is the Twins but I would love to take the M's as they were my childhood favorite 5. How did you find this league? Rotoworld.com 6. What is your e-mail address? traviskjohnson1@gmail.com 7. What experience do you have playing fantasy baseball? I've played fantasy baseball for about 16 years, got into dynasty leagues about 5 years ago, I am currently in 3 20 teamers, one of which I run with a friend of mine. 8. Have you had a chance to review the rules? yes 9. How often will you be available to be contacted by fellow owners in this league? I am always available. 10. What kind of team would you be willing to take? (One that can compete immediately, soon, or a long term project?) I don't mind a project. 11. This is a league with 30 teams in it, and as such it can be expected that there will be a rather large number of teams that will not contend every season. Would you be content with building for the future? Do you need to always be in competition in order to remain interested in the league? I love baseball so I am will be engaged no matter what. 12. Is there any other information you think we as a league should know in order to best determine your eligibility? I don't really play any other fantasy sports and will be active year round. I also write for a dynasty focused fantasy baseball blog. 13. Please post links to any other leagues you participate in. mlb-dynasty2012.proboards.com (no pepper) littlebigleague.proboards.com (Yukon Jacks - Commissioner) Read more: mlbbaseballleague.proboards.com/thread/2/sample-application#ixzz3vqirBMWu

Hi Travis.
As a fellow "year-round", "baseball only" fantasy player, I think this is a fun format, and we'd love to have you here.
If you don't mind, would you be willing to go ahead and post a new roster for the Mariners? It should be based on the last available roster.
We've been asking new applicants to perform this task before removing the team from the "Available" list.
If you have any questions, we'll be glad to help. Thanks.

Thanks for doing that. You will be responsible for keeping your roster reasonably up to date. You may protect any player who is not owned elsewhere in this league and is under contract with the Mariners organization with less than 6 years of service time by listing the specific transaction under "Roster transactions". As something that has been recently added, we are asking all new owners to protect or unprotect at least one player before trading is allowed. (This shows the league that you understand the rules and processes involved in being a GM). While you may discuss trade ideas with other teams, trading is not allowed until 7 days after the establishment of a trade block. It is strongly advised that during this week new owners do not agree to any deals, but instead use this time to field offers, engage in trade discussion and aclimatise to the nuances of the league. Regarding free agency, one of the provisions that was made on behalf of the unowned teams was to add native free agents as each position opens up. The Mariners so far have only received Logan Morrison. If for any reason you choose to drop his contract, you may do so within 7 days. Welcome to the AL West. We're glad to have you here.

I keep forgetting to mention this as well... To make identification easier, you may use the username "Mariners GM (name)".
Thanks.

I know that Adam used the word "may" in that sentence... but please, please, please do use that username format. It makes everyone's life so much easier trying to keep track of 29 other GMs when making trades and getting to know your fellow owners. Welcome aboard! And if you have any questions at all, the Commissioners and the Trade Committee are more than happy to help. All of us (except Adam) were new here ourselves once upon a time.
