What is your name, age and general location? Mac McClarrinon, 48, Johnson City, TN
What is your email address? mmcclarrinon@hotmail.com
Which is your favourite real life team? SF Giants
How did you end up following them? I’m originally from Northern California and grew up listening, watching, and going to Giants games. I’m a little different than most sports fans in that I’m really truly only a baseball fan. Somewhat of a one trick pony. I think this is an advantage in this arena that we compete in. I causal watch other sports but have loved only one for all of my life and think baseball all the time. I coached college baseball for almost 10 years and had the privilege of coaching 3 major leaguers and have seen or recruited countless others in person. The coaching is done so my outlet for baseball has become fantasy baseball and specifically dynasty baseball.
How did you find this league? I was referred by the Braves GM (Eric) we play in the same pro boards league. I believe HOU GM (Adam) and Bert (STL) also have spent some time there as well as others I might not know. The league’s look similar in some ways. I have been researching the league since Eric mentioned the league to me. My current league has poor leadership but was once a great league. I dedicate a lot of time to this so I want to be around others who share similar involvement. I have been impressed with the amount of involvement that I have seen in researching this group, you seem like worthy adversaries.
Please give a brief overview of your fantasy baseball experience. I have played fantasy baseball for the last 10 years. I have played in two dynasty leagues. Both were pro boards leagues. I have been pretty competitive in the the current league I compete in, finishing near the top in each year. I haven’t won a championship yet but would love to fly a flag some day. It’s always a balance in building for the future, while looking to make one good baseball move at a time in order to give yourself a chance if everything clicks to punch your ticket. My experience in coaching college baseball and evaluating major league talent truly gives me a unique perspective in what prospects look like. They are the life blood of a dynasty league.
How many other leagues are you currently a member of, and what format are they (ie H2H, roto, redraft, keeper, auction etc)? (1) rotobaseball.proboards.com/thread/16438/2020-tampa-bay-rays (Dynasty)
How often will you be available to be contacted by fellow owners in this league? I check messaging in these leagues usually every couple of hours. I’m always looking at recent posts to keep up with what is going on, in order to keep myself relevant. I don’t like to be out worked, I believe this a quality that you can control and can give me a leg up on the competition. I tend to watch a lot of baseball and research even more.
This is a league with 30 teams in it, and as such it can be expected that there will be a rather large number of teams that will not contend every season. Would you be content with building for the future? I would be content with building for the future but I definitely like to compete!
Do you need to always be in competition in order to remain interested in the league? Not at all.
Is there any other information you think we as a league should know in order to best determine your eligibility?
I believe I would be a good addition to this group, I like what I see and can’t wait to get started if I’m chosen to compete. Thank you for your consideration, I know this is very good league and would be humbled to be a part of it.
Please post links to any other leagues you participate in. Posted above.
