What is your name, age and general location?
I'm Jordan Rosenblum, I'm 27 and I live in Vaasa, Finland. I'm American, and I moved here two years ago for study and my girlfriend.
What is your email address?
jordanalex.rosenblum@gmail.com
Which is your favourite real life team? How did you end up following them?
I'm a Mets fan. I grew up in NJ and my dad was a big fan and he took me to games.
How did you find this league?
Kyler Jesanis, one of the current league members, informed me about an opening here.
Please give a brief overview of your fantasy baseball experience. How many other leagues are you currently a member of, and what format are they (ie H2H, roto, redraft, keeper, auction etc)?
I'm a member and commissioner of a keep-forever dynasty that's been going on for 13 years now. It's incredibly in-depth and I've spent multiple hours a day on it (including reading articles and baseball research, etc) over the years. It's a standard 5x5 head to head league run through yahoo. We also have farm systems, with two annual prospect drafts. The farm rosters are separate from the major league rosters, and we keep our prospects until they eclipse certain innings/at bats thresholds. Over the years, I've been in other dynasty leagues and auction leagues, as well as keeper leagues and redraft leagues. I've also been active in football and basketball in the past, but in the last few years I've consolidated my attention to focus on baseball -- my true passion. I also recently started writing for the dynasty guru where I'll focus on quantitative analysis, especially of prospects.
How often will you be available to be contacted by fellow owners in this league?
Whenever I'm awake! Kyler told me how active this league was and it won me over. Twelve trades in December is no easy feat! There probably aren't ten leagues on the planet that could make that claim
This is a league with 30 teams in it, and as such it can be expected that there will be a rather large number of teams that will not contend every season. Would you be content with building for the future? Do you need to always be in competition in order to remain interested in the league?
I love a good rebuild. A good rebuild can be more fun and interesting than competing. If I was given an option between two starting rosters, I'd choose the worst roster because I'd rather have more work to do and responsibility for building a winner.
Is there any other information you think we as a league should know in order to best determine your eligibility?
In addition to writing for the dynasty guru, I'm a long time reader of fangraphs, baseball prospectus, the hardball times, razzball, rotowire, the dynasty guru, and the recently departed minor leagueball.
Please post links to any other leagues you participate in.
