Hi Joey,
Nice to meet you. Thanks for applying.
Congrats on the 8 year tenure and the success you e enjoyed. Looking over the rulebook at Gopherball, I appreciate that they don’t use an amateur draft. Undoubtedly many aspects of play will be similar here. Although keeping two sets of rules straight that are similar, but not quite identical, could be a challenge as well.
Currently the Royals are available. If you haven’t done so already, please look over the constitution and/or the FAQ section, and the Royals roster.
As to the question of super teams, there are some GMs here who have quite an ability to compete year after year. I wouldn’t classify anything as impossible. Several of our playoff matchups last year were very close, and were within the range of being decided by random elements. Hopefully you find it suitable also.
Because Stephen and I split some of the admin responsibilities, he will need to be the one to forward the secondary questionnaire. From what I hear, it’s nothing too challenging. He’ll be in touch before long.
Once again, thanks for considering our league.

I won the championship this past year, but only after eeking out a 5-5 in the league championship and winning by virtue of a tiebreaker then just barely gettign a 5-4-1 edge in the world series. It's a very competitive league and there are numerous ways to construct a roster to do so Hi Joey, Nice to meet you. Thanks for applying. Congrats on the 8 year tenure and the success you e enjoyed. Joey, The following is a copy/paste job that all new applicants get. Enjoy! Thank you for completing the first stage of the application. When responding to the following questions please bear in mind that there is not really a right or wrong answer to any of these - everyone having different views and opinions on players and strategy is part of what makes fantasy baseball great. .... We will review your answers as quickly as possible, and get back to you as soon as we can to confirm whether we're happy to get you going. The MBL Commissioners Hi again Joey, It’s better to use those type of questions as a conversation / interview rather than as part of the initial application. The last thing we’d want is for someone to invest time in a league only to find out that it’s more challenging than what they were prepared for. One of the best ways to prevent super-teams is to make sure our new arrivals are up to the challenge. It also allows some insight into the communication style of the applicant. I’m assuming that by posting the secondary questionnaire on the public site that you prefer to play elsewhere. We wish you the best wherever you choose to play. Thanks for considering our site. Regards, Adam

Congratulations Joey! The Kansas City Royals are proud to welcome you as their new general manager. A fun and rewarding future awaits as you chart the course of your franchise! What are the next steps to be taken to get started on the right foot? 1) Please use the username Royals GM (name). 2) Post your own roster page in your team folder. For continuity your first roster should contain the exact same players as the previous team roster. If you wish to make changes to your roster (by protecting unprotecting players) then these should be posted on the Roster Transactions board. You should also check that the arbitration contracts of all of your players are accurate - you don't want to be unnecessarily overpaying anyone! The format of the roster page is open for customisation by each owner, but please bear in mind that it should be easy to read and well maintained. You may find the FAQ page helpful. mlbbaseballleague.proboards.com/thread/636/league-faqs-new-owner3) Notify one of the commissioners if there is a player on a multi-year guaranteed contract whose contract length you would like to reduce. 4) Check your real life team's major and minor league rosters to see if you can protect any arbitration players of value that your predecessor missed. 5) Check your email for an invitation to Fantrax. (Consult with one of the commissioners if there are any difficulties or delays.) 6) Check your Fantrax roster. It should match your Proboards roster and only include players receiving a salary on your team. 7) Post a trade block. You can't agree to a trade until your trade block has been posted for a week. Make good use of your trade block, player evaluation advice, and the one week acclimatization period. The “trade block guidance” page is your friend. Please do not overlook this valuable tool. It is required reading. mlbbaseballleague.proboards.com/thread/732/trade-block-guidance8) Protect a player (see Section VII of the rules). You won't be allowed to trade until this step is taken as a demonstration of understanding the procedure. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. You can post it publicly under “General Chat”, or ask any experienced league member. We’re here to help. From all of your fellow friends and competitors, welcome to our league!
