Here we go again!
(Very) Early division leaders: - Yankees - Twins - Rangers - Braves - Cubs - Padres
Notes: - No teams achieved a 10-0 win to start the season, with the Padres and Rangers recording the biggest victories (9-1-0) to lead the pack out of the gate. - Four of the six reigning Division winners from 2023 started the season with a victory. In the centrals, Royals were held to a tie by Guardians whilst Brewers were downed 6-3-1 by the new-look Cardinals. - Cardinals absolutely dominated the field in IP and K. Their strikeout total (204) smashed second place in the 9+ day matchup records (175), which in itself was crushing third place (135). - Every team batted over .200 this period. I don't have any evidence to back it up, but that feels unusual. - All teams met the AB and IP minimums for scoring.
Records for matchups of 9 days or more (13 in this case): - RBI: Rangers (62) took 3rd - RBI: Orioles (61) joined a tie for what is now 4th - Stolen bases: Red Sox (14) took 4th
- Strikeouts: Cardinals (204) took 1st - Lowest WHIP: Athletics (0.861 in 40.2IP) took 5th

I am shocked to have met the AB minimum. More shocked to have set any sort of record with positive implications.

Wild what the Cards accomplished. Only Webb, Gallen, and Cole pitched as many or more IP in the entire 2023 season.
