Orioles receive:
SP Bruce Zimmermann (BAL) $0.5 2nd RP Brandon Williamson (SEA) $0.3 1st - FangraphsAthletics receive: C Juan Olmos (KC) $0.3 1st - MLBSS Leandro Arias (BAL) $0.3 1st - MLBSS Maikol Hernandez (BAL) $0.3 1st - FangraphsSS Daniel Vazquez (KC) $0.3 1st - FangraphsOF Yosmi Fernandez (KC) $0.3 1st - FangraphsOF Henry Ramos (KC) $0.3 1st - MLBOF Braylin Tavera (BAL) $0.3 1st - MLBOrioles cap: -$0.7 Athletics cap: +$0.7
This deal helps the A's in the rebuild process, as it lands 7 international signings from the past two years - all top 50 prospects in the '21 & '22 singing periods for BAL & KC. These are long-term investments, as they will not see the majors for years, but hopefully there are some diamonds in the rough here. Departing are a pair of highly ranked MLB-ready prospects from SEA in Brash & Williamson, a likely starter in BAL's Zimmerman, and a flyer on SF's Tom. As I do not intend on competing for some time, the long play here outweighs the potential uptick in opportunities for the 7 prospects that could be the offensive core of this team by the year 2030!
Thanks to the O's front office & their uber-talented GM Andy for another awesome round of trade talks!

P.S. - Edited MLB links, as I messed them up originally.

The Orioles accept. Brash and Williamson should be solid additions moving forward to the core young rotation the Os are putting together. Both were elite in MiLB last year, top 7 Mariners' prospects and made Baseball America's list of top 100 prospects for 2022. The potential is there for some solid innings with high Ks. Zimmerman is an Orioles SP NOT named Grayson or Means so likely he will kill my ratios, supply no wins and crush my spirit. Such is the life an Orioles owner. Ka'ai Tom almost certainly will not help but he has a cool name and my team has been sorely lacking in cool names. But, he has gotten some MLB at-bats and maybe he get another chance and turns it around...
Heading out the door is a collection of youngsters--did I just send away the next Soto/Acuna/Tatis? The whole group is fairly well regarded/ranked, and there is a pretty decent chance I will regret at least some of those guys being on Pugs' roster in 2026. At this point, I am trying to plan what I will do with Yordan's top 2-3 International signings of 2023.
Cheers Bubs--nice trade, think we both got what we were looking for which is always nice. Most of my youngsters were not yet in Fantrax--dropped the 2 that are.

Bubs - can you provide links to how players you're trading were acquired? Also, please confirm players have been dropped in Fantrax.

Hi Jay, Strictly speaking, neither of these are mandatory requirements of posting a trade. They do, however, make TC's job easier. I will put together a rule vote to see whether the league would like to make these mandatory, although that vote won't take place until after the 2022 season. Thanks, Stephen
