Twins trade: SP Bailey Ober (Twins) $.3 1st www.fangraphs.com/players/bailey-ober/sa918555/stats?position=PRoyals trade: C Miguel Amaya (Cubs) $.3 1st www.fangraphs.com/players/miguel-amaya/sa917354/stats?position=CRoyals: no change; Twins: no change Reasoning: Amaya ranks (a lot) higher than Ober everywhere, especially on real life lists, but I've sent probably literally 50 offers involving him since acquiring him from MIL a few weeks back and couldn't find a match I prefer more than Ober. Ober doesn't have great velocity but he's got stellar numbers, e.g., 13 K/9 and 1 BB/9 in Double-A, better than pretty much any other SP prospect, you name him (mackenzie gore, whoever). I'm a numbers-first guy, so I'm willing to overlook the mediocre velocity and see how Ober pans out. I do like Amaya plenty too, but I already have a C prospect I adore in Kirk. Ive been bugging Mike w/ offers all year; he knows what he has in Ober. Glad we finally found a mutually sensible match. Thanks for the fun deal!

Twins Agree.
I like Ober alot more than the rankings as well because of his statistical profile as Yordan stated. He doesn't have a lot of love out there but he is a very tall pitcher with a deceptive delivery that makes has lack of velocity not just work, but work incredibly well throughout his MiLB career. Yordan has been trying to pry Ober from me all offseason and the offer of Amaya was enough to get it done. I actually have Ober and Amaya valued pretty similarly but I think that Amaya is viewed higher by the vast majority. I am making this trade because I pick up a top 10 Catcher prospect that I think will give my team much more perceived value than Ober.
Thanks for the good talks Yordan.
