Simply tired of the double standards that this league has turned into. See you guys later. Good luck with the BS.

Here's one comment from a fellow owner:
Stuart,
I am 99% sure I know what you're referring to, and you're not alone in feeling that way. I would ask that you consider not quitting and instead join with some people who feel the same way you do and move for change. At least consider it? Or at least we can talk about and vent about the issues that got you here? Let me know.

and another one I find interesting:
That actually genuinely surprises me, I don't think of myself as having that much influence or credibility with other members of the league. I know I need to be better at picking my battles and choosing my words when i make public comments. it's something I'm working on. I know I've played a role, probably a sizeable one, in the issues in the league this past month or so and trying to find a way to be true to myself and what I think everyone's roles are, but not causing trouble. Anything besides this explanation that has struck you as a double standard recently?

And one last comment from a fellow owner:
that's a shame to hear, i've always enjoyed our trade discussions and think you're one of the best owners here. however i am starting to get a little frustrated with the click and it looks like they're bringing in more friends from other sites so i understand your decision. best of luck with everything.
So Adam to be bold and honest with you, there's a few issue "you" need to handle or you'll lose more owners along the way. There is click in this league and people are tired of it. So you might want to speak with Stephen and TJ and see what needs to be done so others don't follow me out the door.

Sorry to see you go Stuart. I have thoroughly enjoyed having met you. I can understand your frustration. It seems disheartening sometimes with these owners
best wishes and again, pleasure meeting you

I agree with most of those sentiments too. I’m disappointed to see you go. We’ve always gotten along well.
I’ll try to keep an eye out for things. Thanks again for all your hard work and efforts.

And another comment about my issue:
You definitely arent alone. Ive contemplated walking away too bc of who I am sure are the same people. Its frustrating to invest so much time and effort in what is/was such a promising and enjoyable league to only have it tarnished by the actions and attitude of a few.

Thank you again for the information Stuart.
I’ve known that this league is not top of the line since it’s construction. It’s imperfections are a reflection of those of us who’ve contributed to it. It’s very sobering to know how frágil it really is.
Understanding its flaws though, it’s nothing more than a game. If it doesn’t result in fun, then it’s not a good investment of time. So, there’s no need to begrudge anyone if they would find more enjoyment elsewhere.
For my part, I will definitely take these comments to heart and try to look for ways to always improve the experience to whatever degree possible. I would love for these quotes to remain anonymous, and thank you for posting them as such, so as to try and avoid a biased view of any individual still here.
Once again, thank you so much Stuart. You helped us get on our feet at the start, something I won’t forget. I have nothing but the best of wishes for you going forward.

I would ask that you consider not quitting and instead join with some people who feel the same way you do and move for change. At least consider it? I didn't plan on it being public, but now that it is, I'm not ashamed of it. I don't think Stuart should quit. And I invite anyone who feels the way that he does, or even those who disagree, to reach out to me and I would be more than happy to talk about it in private in hopefully a constructive way. I think Adam's right no league is perfect. If there are issues, I think the people who have them should discuss them, and then present the collective view in a polite and cohesive manner. So I implore any of the anonymous posters to contact me, and hopefully reach some sort of resolution where we don't lose any owners from what I consider to be a pretty good league.

I asked Adam if I may return to my team and here's what I said this morning: I will be very blunt and forward here Adam, may I ask for my team back? I'm usually not one to ask for this but I have a lot of time invested here and I don't want the next owner to come along and piss away all my hard work. You're call. Read more: mlbbaseballleague.proboards.com/conversation/5698#ixzz54AxUaJIEAnd in return Adam responded with: I’m flattered that you would consider it Stuart, but that bridge may have already been burned. We probably need to just move forward at this point. I’m going to be getting my family ready for church this afternoon, so I’ll be limited as to how much I can explain, but I’ll have more time this evening if needed. You are an excellent player and will succeed anywhere. In the end, it’s a game and hobby. There are many ways to have fun, and much better run leagues than this one. If you even chose to start up your own, you would make an excellent commissioner. As another alternative, rotobaseball.proboards.com is still looking to fill some teams. I left behind a pretty sharp looking Astros roster there. Thanks again. I’ll have more time for conversation later today. Read more: mlbbaseballleague.proboards.com/conversation/5698#ixzz54AxoD2T1So like I said last night, I quit. I figure since a "bridge is burned" and now I'm being offered other opportunities elsewhere I understand what Adam is doing here. So please take the time and realize from the members who reached out to me with the same concerns I stated that there are problems with a certain group of people and their influence. Someone told me last night about the "core four" and the way they do things in this league, for those who don't know the core four the reference was towards Adam/HOU, Stephen/TEX, TJ/PIT, and Kyler/CIN. These four run things and only their opinions count. One last thing, has anyone else besides, oh maybe 8 owners, ever notice how fast these four owners have their trades accepted shortly after they are posted when compared to other owners in this league? Something to think about.

Again, this gives the appearance that if anyone calls out issues with the league they will be quickly whisked aside. This just isn't a constructive or promising way to handle such occurrences and looks bad to the spectators.
I hope there is reconsideration....

Or we could say good cap (Adam) and bad cop (Stephen). Funny how the core four has been off and on since last night and only two have voiced any concerns about the current issues I have raised. You figure the core four are speaking behind the scenes so they can have one story instead of four.

Bill,
That’s exactly what I felt. I challenged management privately, refusing to walk back statements made re: Stephen (again privately). Instead of working with me and the league to address these issues, I was simply given the opportunity to post a graceful resignation or I would be forcibly removed.
What this has shown, especially with Stuart now, is that any challenge to management is met with a swift kick out the door, regardless of how good or bad a GM you are. Regardless of how much or little you contribute to the league.
I invested so much time in my Athletics in 40 days and honestly am still seething a bit that I was dismissed so quickly.
It’s their ball and if you challenge them, they will take their ball and go home.
Sad to see that in a world that promotes free speech and inclusion, Adam continues to fall back on “this is a hobby and a game” and we should all “go along to get along.” What a cop out.
I hope this won’t get deleted and that you all have a chance to digest and form your own opinions about what’s going on here. I guess I can understand dismissing me after just 40 days. I’m new. No biggee for the league. (Just for me.) But Stuart? A founding member? Y’all need to take a long look in the mirror.
And I’m sure he above doesn’t help my case, but yes, I do STILL WANT my team. Just not sure I’ll ever get it back.
-Todd

Todd and Stu,
I 100% agree that there needs to be more transparency about what happened behind the scenes with the two of you. I had been asking for that even before this. But, I don't think this is the right way to get what you want. I would ask that you take some time to let cooler heads prevail, and explain to me what you are frustrated about, so that it can be expressed in a cohesive and ultimately productive manner.
