Early division leaders: - Orioles - Twins - Rangers - Braves - Reds - Padres
Notes: - No teams achieved a 10-0 win this week. Perhaps it is a sign that we have fewer teams than usual in the deep part of a rebuild, but it seems that every team is being made to work hard for their points to start the season. To that end, only two teams achieved fewer than 3 points this week. - The Braves took back the lead of the NLE from the Nationals. - A 5-5 tie for the Reds against the Royals was enough for them to sneak past the Cardinals into the lead of the NLC, who themselves were dealing with a tough matchup against the NLW-leading Padres. - During their matchup, the Nationals and Rockies tied in 4 categories this week. Through 5 weeks (and 50 separate chances of a tie), the Yankees are yet to tie a single category. - An instant impact for a new trade acquisition - Jose Caballero's first day in the lineup wearing a Royals jersey saw him run wild and steal 4 bases, and the Royals overtake the Reds in that category on Sunday to win it 9-8. - All five teams in the NLC remain separated by 10 games or fewer. This one could be a fistfight all season long. - After noting last week that five teams posted a WHIP of 1.000 or lower, 2024 really could be shaping up as another year of the pitcher. Along with three sub-1.00 ERAs (Marlins 0.43 ERA in 21 IP, Yankees 0.64 ERA in 42.1 IP, Cubs 0.70 ERA in a whopping 64.1 IP), EIGHT teams achieved a WHIP of 1.000 or lower this week. Five teams hit sub-.200 batting averages. - All teams met the AB and IP minimums for scoring.
Records achieved this week: None this week

Jose Caballero hurt my feelings a lot. I owned him in a different league last year and he does that to me on a Sunday?!?!? Where's the loyalty?

On the topic of my own rebuild, I just noticed that with Alika Williams gaining 2B eligibility I am now a LFer away from a full line-up of ML roster players for what I believe is the first time since I’ve joined. Obviously not all of them are everyday starters but progress nonetheless. Now if only a left fielder can get called up before someone else gets sent down… just for one game. Send good energy to Samad Taylor and/or Juan Yepez, I guess.
