Notes:
- No teams achieved a 10-0 win this week. Five teams achieved 9 category wins in heavy victories.
- No division leads changed hands this week.
- For the second week in a row, the Jays and Guardians flipped places. After Toronto's struggles this week against #2 overall Colorado, all of a sudden Cleveland find themselves with a 6 game lead for the final AL WC spot.
- The Reds hopped both the Pirates and the Cardinals to move into the NL WC3 slot. They hold a narrow single game lead over the Reds for the final NL playoff berth.
- The Guardians have pulled back to within a matchup's points of the ALC lead, and are now only 9 games behind the Royals. These two face each other in the final week of the regular season.
- The top 4 teams in the AL are separated by only 5 games, with the Astros less than 10 games back from the AL #1 spot. Only the best two divisional winners get a bye to bypass the WC round.
- The Marlins are keeping within touching distance of the dominant Brewers and Rockies at the top of the NL. It is probably between these three teams for the two byes past the WC round in the NL.
- As we head into the closing stretch of the regular season, intra-divisional play returns. The in-division Astros/Rangers and Brewers/Pirates matchups, as well as the non-divisional Braves/Reds, Orioles/Giants and Mariners/Royals matchups all contain both teams at least within 10 points of the playoff spots.
- Looking ahead, period 18 could see three matchups which could directly determine divisional winners - the current top two teams in the ALE, NLE and ALC (all separated from each other by under 10 points) face off that week.
- Congrats (?!) to the Nationals for achieving the 3rd-worst ERA in league history. I guess that it was 17.2 innings of pitching that nobody would want to watch back.
- All teams met the AB and IP minimums for scoring.
Records:
Highest ERA - Nationals (11.72) took 3rd
