Now that I’ve spoiled the Angels’ attempt at a perfect week and removed all question of a last place finish, I wanted to see if I could pry away some more precious prospect capital from those wanting a little more depth.
A number of my pitchers were free agent acquisitions and are not available for the time being because of that - however there are still a fewquality arms to be dealt.
SP Noah Syndergaard (LAD) $9.5 2024 - He’s expensive, short-term, and seems able to get you some innings. His ERA is still sitting high but projections and xERA seem to imply that’ll come down.
SP Matthew Liberatore (STL [MiLB]) $0.3 1st - Part of the long-term plan so 98% a no-go but I’m comfortable enough with my young SP crop that I’m not entirely opposed to moving just one of them for the right return.
SP Hogan Harris (OAK [MiLB]) $0.3 1st - Similar thoughts to Liberatore but less attached.
SP, RP Zach Logue (DET [MiLB]) $0.5 2nd - 22 innings of 3.97 ERA at AAA so far this year is a move in the right direction! (Just don’t check his BB/9 please.) he strikes me as a likely ‘move to the bullpen’ candidate so that is how I view his value.
RP Caleb Smith (PIT [MiLB]) $1.0 6th - If you squint really hard you can find something to be optimistic about here but if the Pirates continue on their 2022 O’s storyline I don’t know that he’s their ‘next one up’ any time soon. That said, his barrel % has consistently dropped since 2019 year over year! (Yay?)
RP Blake Treinen (LAD [IL]) $3.1 3026 - Can’t help you this year but more likely to help you sooner than he helps me.
