Hi Mihai,
I started your roster check this morning and was wondering if you could help me out with some questions I had before I went any further.
There are several players showing as protected on your initial 2023 roster who are showing as unprotected on your final 2022 roster. They are:
Brian Serven
Alan Trejo
Lucas Gilbreath
Justin Lawrence
Jesus Tinoco
Yanquiel Fernandez
The only one I can find a protect post for is Fernandez, who you protected on 29 Mar 2022.
Are you able to show me where the others were protected? If not, then they should not be on your initial 2023 roster page. If you want to protect them to add them to your roster page, this can be done after the roster maintenance period ends and the roster freeze is lifted.
Serven (52 AB), Trejo (20 AB), Gilbreath (9 IP), Lawrence (13.2 IP) and Tinoco (3.1 IP) all made appearances in your Fantrax active lineup in 2022, but I believe that they were not protected (or paid) whilst doing so.
Fernandez did not appear in your active lineup on Fantrax, but as per the post of 29 Mar he was protected and as a result should have been paid a salary.
Your final 2022 roster - and for most of the season from what I can tell from your transaction history - showed a cap usage of $99.9, despite all six of those players showing as unprotected (and unpaid).
My first instinct is that rule 6.4.2 needs to be applied in this situation, but I did not want to go any further without first consulting you on this.
Can you provide any reasoning why you think that rule 6.4.2 should not be applied here, or do you agree that it would be appropriate?
Thanks,
Stephen
