I've given it a ton of thought as activities have stirred back up and I've decided that I just don't have the interest I once had in baseball and have decided to resign as GM of the Padres and take a break from fantasy sports period.
With all of the additional restrictions and players opting in and out, I dread the thought of trying to keep up with all of that while my personal and work life have been rather demanding as of recent as well.
When you start dreading an aspect that you should have great interest and enjoyment in, I feel it is safe to say it's time to just break it off.
Thanks to Adam and Stephen for all that they have built and allowing me to be a part of it. It's no small feat in today's age of instant and immediate gratification to be able to maintain a majority of owners year in and year out. That is a testament to what Adam and Stephen built and what the latter continues to manage.
It was nice getting to know a number of you guys and competing with you. I'm pleased with how I competed in the league and shutter at the thought of only having one (1?!) Playoff series victory.... but at least I won a lot of regular season games and feel I'm leaving the team better than I started with, fortunately.
Best of luck this season and the far more normal ones to come. If I ever change my mind I'll be sure to keep this site saved so I can plead to come back, hat in hand.

Hi Bill,
I am so sorry and sad to read this. Baseball has alienated so many with how it has conducted itself over the past few months.
I'm sure everyone here will join me in wishing you the very best for the future. You will be missed.
Stephen

Bill,
Your decision is certainly understandable. But I’m saddened to see you leave.
There’s no doubt that you are leaving the Padres in better shape than when you arrived. Before you arrived, there was some discussion about whether or not the Padres were already irreparably damaged from a previous GM. Instead though, you had them in contention every year.
I feel like we are losing one of the core participants in the league. You have always been active and responsive. You even stuck with us through the Fernando Tatis shenanigans a few years back.
I appreciate the chance to get to know you, if only a little bit, and hope in the future we’ll get a chance to compete again.
