What is your name, age and general location?
: I'm Griffin, a 21 year old currently living in Indiana for school but originally from Michigan. I'm graduating and my job will make me a traveling man for at least two years (4 different rotations of 6 months each).
What is your email address?
: kgherdeg@gmail.com
Which is your favourite real life team? How did you end up following them?
: Detroit Tigers. I inherited it, being born in a suburb of Detroit.
How did you find this league?: I found it by searching for baseball leagues on ProBoards on Google. I've had a lot of success with ProBoards leagues. The GMs are usually much more committed and closer and it allows for more banter. This was the second one to pop up and the polish on the forums is very impressive.
Please give a brief overview of your fantasy baseball experience. How many other leagues are you currently a member of, and what format are they (ie H2H, roto, redraft, keeper, auction etc)?
: Seeing as it's the offseason, I'm not a member of any leagues. Last year, I played it sort of lowkey with a few weekly H2H category leagues. I do have two years of experience in deep 30-team leagues, though. Both teams, they were startups and crashed and burned due to mismanagement. However, the amount of work and research that needs to be done to succeed in leagues like this is unmatched and is what appeals to me so much about it. You really need to know your stuff. In terms of the types of leagues I've played in, I've been involved in pretty much all of the above. I prefer H2H keeper/dynasty formats, and wasn't a huge fan of the couple of auction leagues I experimented with. Redraft leagues are fun but I much prefer the depth of keeper/dynasty leagues.
How often will you be available to be contacted by fellow owners in this league?
: I am available for contact every day unless specifically mentioned otherwise (out of the country, etc.). I find it hard to imagine an entire day where I wouldn't be able to check up on my message, etc.
This is a league with 30 teams in it, and as such it can be expected that there will be a rather large number of teams that will not contend every season. Would you be content with building for the future? Do you need to always be in competition in order to remain interested in the league?
: I'm absolutely content with rebuilding and I actually quite like it. I find the challenge of rebuilding and dealing pieces to create a magnificent farm system quite appealing. I'm perfectly fine with watching a few seasons slip into mediocrity if it means I can be a force to reckon with in the future.
Is there any other information you think we as a league should know in order to best determine your eligibility?
: Despite what I mentioned above, I'm here to win. I'd be super excited to meet new people and shoot the shit about baseball and whatever else, and that is one of the highlights of a league like this - the amount of different perspectives you have the ability to see. But at the end of the day, I'm going to win the whole damn thing.
Please post links to any other leagues you participate in.
: I would if I could but those two ProBoards leagues are from the 2016 and 2017 seasons and I'm not even sure I could find them if I tried.
