Should we double the AB and IP minimums for two-week playoff matchups? Rule 2.14 states "Each team must compile a minimum of 10 innings pitched and 20 at bats per matchup to qualify for the ERA/WHIP and BA categories respectively." This rule was designed with regular season, one-week matchups in mind. For the LCS and WS, should teams be required to achieve double the standard minimums since the matchup is double the length of a standard matchup? Regular season matchups which extend beyond 7 days (for example, around the all star break) would remain unaffected.
Voting will open on October 21. This thread will remain open to allow for discussion.

My personal 2 cents:
I'm unconvinced that it is a viable playoff strategy to scrape either or both of the minimums so I'm not really fussed by this one, but in my mind the spirit of the rules and minimums is that a two week playoff matchup should require a team to meet double of the regular season (one week) matchups minimums.

Raising the minimums advantages the favorites because it's easier to luck one's way into two categories with low minimums. With expanded minimums the better team is typically going to have a better shot at winning bc of the larger sample. Idc what we do really, just wanted to note some of the impacts.

Two more cents:
Just thinking that the goals of the minimums in the playoffs may be different than the regular season goals. In the regular season, we often have greater disparity between roster sizes. Using low minimums helps to smooth the edges of otherwise completely uncompetitive matchups. In the playoffs, the low requirement is a tool for the underdog, but not an essential lifeline.
I’m personally not sure which way I’ll vote yet. It’s a very minor question.
On the one hand, it feels like an oversight that could be corrected. Ten innings are expected for a one week matchup, 20 innings are expected for two. (As long as we don’t try to apply it to the awkward opening week and All-Star matchups.)
On the other hand, I don’t personally want to have to try to remember to go in and change the minimums during the playoffs. Selfish reasons may lead me to vote no.

By a score of 17-6, the league has voted to double the minimums for two-week playoff matchups.
The rule book will be updated shortly.
