By posting, the Padres accept. Interesting deal from my perspective. I badly lack hitting depth and a consistent reliever and I think this deal accomplishes shoring up my team for what I feel is the waning twilight of my truly competitive window. Taylor adds great versatility, Schoop will hold down 2nd base until Murphy is healthy, Roe further solidifies my holds and Eduardo, while disastrous thus far, gives me an interesting SP. I can't imagine he will be this bad all year, will he? Out of all of those pieces, only one doesn't have another year of control, I believe that factors in as well.
What did I give up? Manaea is the big piece to let go, but his injury has me concerned in addition to the fact that I seemingly overvalued him. He's a solid youngish arm, but stat wise, he seems just slightly better than average. Pillar naturally increased his rbi total 5 fold on the night I agree to deal him...but he has been terrible otherwise. Phelps and David Hernandez are basically salary dumps for me, they are average rp arms. The prospects I give up are all mid-tier hometown top 30 prospects. 3 of them are relatively far away from possibly making a big league roster but have intriguing tools. My win now approach persuaded me to swap them out as I'm playing to win today and these guys can't help me right now. I didn't like dealing Campusano (again), but I think he is just blocked by Hedges and Mejia for the foreseeable future.
Thanks for the deal Micheal, Hernandez was my only drop in fantrax.
