Please answer the following questions:
Short questions:
1. What is your age?
40
2. What is your general location?
DC Metro
3. What is your favorite MLB team?
New York Yankees
4. How did you find this league?
RotoWorld League Finder Service
5. What is your e-mail address?
jasonlong315@gmail.com
Medium Questions:
1. What experience do you have playing fantasy baseball?
Over 25 years. I've been in leagues of of all types and sizes across a number of hosts, but prefer H2H 5 x 5 Dynasty. Started in fantasy by being Commish with my buddies. Tracked scoring using box scores from the newspaper and The Sporting News & drafted by relying on The Elias Baseball Analyst. Kind of miss those days sometimes, but the Internet age definitely makes it easier.
2. How often will you be available to be contacted by fellow owners in this league?
Available via email 24-7. Cell service is blocked at work, but I check the phone on breaks. So... at most it might take half a day to initially respond to any forum-based communication during the week.
3. What kind of team would you be willing to take? (One that can compete immediately, soon, or a long term project?)
Any team really. I would be willing to build/rebuild from the bottom-up whenever necessary. Most of my dynasty experience is taking over abandoned teams that needed some work, but I actually enjoy the challenge & micromanagement that this requires.
Longer questions:
1. This is a league with 30 teams in it, and as such it can be expected that there will be a rather large number of teams that will not contend every season. Would you be ok with building for the future? Do you need to always be in competition in order to remain interested in the league?
If there's anything that I have learned from fantasy baseball it's that anything can happen and your season can go south quite easily and unpredictably. This is just another way that fantasy can reflect the real thing. I understand that this format leaves the vast majority on the outside looking in at the playoffs. There's always next year!
2. Is there any other information you think we as a league should know in order to best determine your eligibility?
Baseball is one of my major life interests and is the only sport I play fantasy in for the last several years. It's pretty much all I watch during the season & I spend the winter reading about it (and draft prepping). This league has my preferred scoring settings as well as host site. Because of these factors, I feel like I would fit well as an owner. I would love the opportunity to GM the Pittsburgh Pirates from league inception. Thank you.
Please post links to any other leagues you participate in.
