What is your name, age and general location?
Chase Lamere, 20, Lansing MI
What is your email address?
lamerech@msu.edu
Which is your favourite real life team? How did you end up following them?
The Detroit Tigers, I grew up liking them and attending games because we lived so close.
How did you find this league?
On the findaleague subreddit
Please give a brief overview of your fantasy baseball experience. How many other leagues are you currently a member of, and what format are they (ie H2H, roto, redraft, keeper, auction etc)?
I have been playing fantasy baseball for 8 years now. I have played all the formats listed over the years but I have never been in a true dynasty league like the MBL which is why I am so interested. The main league that I have been in the past three years is a H2H categroies league that was changed to points last year that I am the commissioner of. I host the draft at my house with 11 other buddies each year and the league is very active. I struggled this year barely missing out on the playoffs for the first time because of Mike Trout's injury but I am usually very competitive. baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/143782
How often will you be available to be contacted by fellow owners in this league?
Every day, I am a college student with free time everyday where I can check the board.
This is a league with 30 teams in it, and as such it can be expected that there will be a rather large number of teams that will not contend every season. Would you be content with building for the future? Do you need to always be in competition in order to remain interested in the league? I know that if I take over the Athletics I am getting myself into a rebuild. I'm used to always contending in my previous fantasy leagues but the main thing that has drawn me to this league is how realistic it is to real life. I look forward to the challenge of rebuilding the Athletics and turning them into contenders as soon as possible.
Is there any other information you think we as a league should know in order to best determine your eligibility?
I am a student at Michigan State University studying mechanical engineering. Sports and math have always been two things I really enjoy which are two of the main components of fantasy sports. I really enjoy researching as many different sabermetrics as possible and keeping up with the farm systems of all the teams. After school ends I will have an engineering internship over the summer where I will have time to check the boards and stay active with the league daily. I read through the rules and the seven sections of the constitution and I am impressed with how organized the league is. Thank you for considering me to be the new manager of the Oakland Athletics.
