Mets trade: OF Anthony Alford (Blue Jays) 0.3M 1st m.milb.com/milb/player/546990SS Isan Diaz (Brewers) 0.3M 1st m.milb.com/milb/player/656371Nationals trade: SP Michael Wacha (Cards) 1.0M 5th Cap impact: Mets: +0.4M Nats: (-0.4M) Reasoning: The start of the season can't possibly come quick enough so I can turn my focus to other things and stop meddling wth this roster until I have it totally messed up... We've been discussing this deal fit a while and while we agreed to Alford, finding the finishing piece was turning to be pretty difficult and initially I had totally resisted including Diaz, however, as I gave it more and more thought I decided if that's what it took, just do it and get the deal... From Nats perspective these are both extremely excited prospects, but both considerably risky that they'll be able to translate it to the MLB level, fact is that the odds are against both of them reaching that level, most likely one of the two will be a legit, fantasy player and one will struggle... Conversely, we know that if Wacha is healthy he's a legit, middle of the rotation MLB starter (or, fingers crossed, a lock down late inning RP, with SP/RP eligiblity)... So, I'll go with it for now, and then when it looks like either of these guys is starting to get his chance wth the big club, I'll come crawling desperately back ty over pay to put them back on the squad. Thanks again Nats, we stuck wth it, and it worked out...

Thanks for the fun trade talks. I got Wacha in a trade fully intending to keep him. Until Mets cane with a offer and I realized I can get some more prospects for Wacha. I think Wacha will have a good year but he's not going to help me much in these 2 years since I'm rebuilding. He will be a free agent before I'm ready to compete again so I figured I might as well make a move. I'm excited for the prospects and it is a risk. I might end up getting a bunch of AAAA players from all these trades I'm making.
