Is plurality going to be enough?
Because my general feeling is that if less than half the league is in favor of a specific option, we are better with whatever we had before. I suppose here you could do a runoff between the top two choices.

Adam and I have discussed this and will make a decision on how to proceed upon the conclusion of the extension.

With only 4 unrepresented active GMs, my preferred option has been mathematically eliminated. It's going to be a fun new world.

Beginning in 2018, we will use the following position configuration for pitchers: 3 starting pitchers, 2 pitchers, 4 relief pitchers.
A few notes about this election...
Upon reflection, I should've handled this poll a little differently. In the future, regarding decisions with more than two choices on the ballot, we will state more clearly whether the most popular choice simply wins, or if the least popular choice will be eliminated and more runoffs will be held.
In this particular poll, the two less popular choices are very closely related, and undoubtedly split the vote. At the same time, in the absence of specific instruction, the appearance of this poll was that the most popular choice would be enacted.
All three choices were vetted by Stephen and myself before being placed on the ballot. A discussion thread was also posted prior to this vote. All three choices were considered by many (myself included) to be a reasonable and measured improvement to a piece of the game that, although adequate, didn't appear particularly well designed. Therefore, given the expectations of this election, and the relative similarity in ballot proposals, my decision is to uphold the results of this election.
There are valid reasons why some may feel differently. What constitutes a "majority"? Is 50% required? How should non-binary elections be held? Should the split vote be given a chance in a runoff? If enough people feel strongly about this, and wish to present a well-supported petition, I'd be glad to give it consideration and keep the conversation open. Otherwise, the decision remains as noted above, and we'll continue to proceed with the off-season.
Thanks for understanding. Once again, I apologize for the lack of clear direction at the outset.
