Overview and comparison of settings between ESPN and Fantrax. Some of the scoring settings can be found in the Rules. Others had to be decided when setting up the scoring sites. (ESPN or Fantrax, to be determined by Monday.) Any of the following can be discussed and re-evaluated.
- Schedule: On either site, the first period and All-Star week may be combined to ensure that we won't have shortened matchups.
- Roster size: This has very little effect, as Proboards will host the true roster pages. ESPN's player limit is 40 per team. Fantrax is set to 333.
- Positional eligibility: ESPN doesn't provide any option to change this - 20 games from the previous season, 10 games in the current season permits eligibility at any position. Fantrax is currently set for - 10 games in the previous season, 10 games in the current season permits eligibility for hitters. 5 games in the previous season, 5 games in the current season permits eligibility for pitchers. (This is something that could be up for review, given that we play with differentiated outfield roster slots. LF,CF,RF.)
- Min./Max. for ratio categories: ESPN is set at 10 IP minimum per matchup in order to qualify for ERA and WHIP. Fantrax is set at 20 ABs required to qualify for Batting Average, 10 IP for ERA and WHIP.
- Fantrax only: Players will always accumulate stats in all scoring category groups. (Pitchers' batting stats will be counted. Batters' pitching stats will be counted.)
- Lineup changes: ESPN and Fantrax both allow lineup changes daily up until 5 minutes before each player's gametime.
- Adding and dropping players: ESPN and Fantrax both are set to allow individual owners to make their own roster changes. (Just a reminder as always, rosters on the scoring site must match the Proboards team roster page.) Trades will be processed by adding and dropping the players involved only after receiving a 3rd approval from the Trade Committee.
If there's anything that could, or should, be changed, feel free to discuss it here. Thanks.
