That would be fine and I would love to see Stephen's laid out schedule. Also TJ's idea is even a good idea.

Full intraleague schedule (8 weeks against your own division and 10 weeks against the other divisions in your league) Make the "short" week at the All-Star Break be an interleague matchup against your ranking match from the other league (1st vs 1st, 2nd vs 2nd, last vs last). I had exactly the same thought (although toyed with suggesting something like half-points considering it's a short week and introduces a random factor into schedule strength). The downside is that with one matchup per season it's unlikely you play every other team over even a 30 year period (unless they're pre-set regardless of standings). I am hoping to double check my matchups today (more gin was an obstacle last night) and can publish when I'm reasonably happy. In response to Adam's message - I think a single league is beneficial for the running and visibility of the league as a whole even if we stick with our current matchups.

But if we keep the original matchups are we not using the full advantage of a single league? For example, if we have a wild card race the last month of the season, and there are 3-4 teams competing, it may work out that they might be playing each other that last month of the season or last week and that would be pretty cool. I might be in a wild card running with the Giants and Dodgers and never play them this year.

I doubt that "original matchups" would win in a poll.
But it needs to be an option presented for 2 reasons - 1) if any team has built their roster or plans based on the expectations of the previously provided schedule, they can use that opportunity to voice their concern, and 2) to ensure that the responsibility for changing schedules is shared by the entire league, thus avoiding some potential concerns about motives for the schedule change.

The first draft schedule I've put together is as follows:
Even years - Intra-league play. Play your own division twice each (8 games), and the other teams in your league once (10 games) for a total of 18 Odd years - Inter-league play. Play your own division twice each (8 games), and the other teams in the leagues specified below once (10 games) for a total of 18
[See update below]
I stress that this is a draft copy. Whilst it is even - every team plays their own division the same number of times (twice every season), the rest of their league the same number of times (8 times every 12 years), their inter-league rivals the same number of times (4 times every 12 years) and their non-interleague rivals the same number of times (2 times every 12 years) - there are a few anomalies with the schedule itself. This comes from doing it by eye/hand on paper - if anyone knows of any resource that would do this more accurately I'd be delighted to hear of it.
If there is support of this sort of method I can try and mess around with the matchups so that each division is paired with every other at least every 8 years (my first draft didn't quite manage that, with four examples of a 10 year wait between divisional matchups).
Interested to hear the thoughts of the league.

I've had a tinker (trial and error is your friend) and the following schedule is still even (as described above) but means that every division meets every other division at least once every 8 years.
2017 ALW: ALC NLW ALC: ALW NLE ALE: NLC NLE NLW: NLC ALW NLC: NLW ALE NLE: ALC ALE 2019 ALW: ALC NLC ALC: ALW NLC ALE: NLE NLW NLW: ALE NLE NLC: ALW ALC NLE: ALE NLW 2021 ALW: NLW NLE ALC: ALE NLW ALE: ALC NLC NLW: ALW ALC NLC: NLE ALE NLE: NLC ALW 2023 ALW: NLW ALE ALC: NLC NLE ALE: NLE ALW NLW: ALW NLC NLC: ALC NLW NLE: ALE ALC 2025 ALW: ALE NLC ALC: NLC NLW ALE: NLE ALW NLW: ALC NLE NLC: ALC ALW NLE: ALE NLW 2027 ALW: NLW NLE ALC: NLC ALE ALE: NLW ALC NLW: ALW ALE NLC: ALC NLE NLE: NLC ALW
If anyone has a better solution I'm keen to see it (and be interested to know where you obtained it from). Or if anyone has any questions then please fire away.

Counting the Orioles' verbal comments as a vote, we are still looking for 16 more votes. (Once a majority has been reached, then this poll will be closed.)

Whilst I appreciate that this vote is not as exciting as free agency, it would be appreciated if you could take some time to vote on this poll if you have not done so. This poll relates to the running of the league, and impacts everyone.

I think most teams based their strategy on their division. I think we should keep the two week all star break since that week is only a 3 week schedule. I think we could do away with the 2 week LCS. For the first year we could do one week interleague rivals as best as we can. Like Cubs/White Sox, Nationals/Orioles, Giants/Oakland, Marlins/Rays, Red's/Indians. The drawback to that is you should have Astros/Rangers which you guys would already play each other twice. And you have to be somewhat random on teams like the Twins, and Rockies who don't have a "rival". Ugh, I forgot about the ASB... that is a real kick in the pants.

On the topic of 'schedules', Adam and I have found some issues with some of the above proposals. If/when a single Fantrax-league gets voted in we will publish the options available to us for discussion and possible/probable vote.

In order to submit a vote, please click either "yes" or "no" on the ballot above. Alternatively, you may state your preference in this thread and it will be counted. (Some of the comments in this thread are not a clear "yes" or "no".)
There are 15 teams that still have the opportunity to vote.
