Is anyone else playing immaculate grid on baseball reference every day? I’ve become obsessed with trying to come up with the most obscure answers I can think of off the top of my head.

every day. best rarity score to date has been like 194. Think my most obscure was a .2%, believe it was Scott Rolen for HOF and .300 season lol, but those are just highlights, most days I'm getting 7/8 or a rarity well in the 200s

Wow, I really need to up my game then. My best rarity scores have been mid 100’s. I had a couple sub %1 ones today but had to go for an obvious one for “Pirates .300 career hitter”. Do you let yourself look anything up? Or you just go straight from memory? If you think you have a good obscure name but aren’t %100 sure it fits do you take the chance? Or go for a more obvious one to make sure you get all 9?

your rarity scores beat mine then for sure. If I understand it correctly, it's just the sum of the percentages so mid 100s is way better.
I try to only look up someone if I can remember like everything about a player but draw a massive blank on the name. Like "oh x guy had those back to back 30 steal season for the rangers and then went on to the mariners, was a quad a guy for a while after that. I can picture his face gahh". google. oh Leonys Martin thats right.
I'll also google afterwards to learn more.
I usually go for the obscure ones if I am more sure than not on it, but if I'm 50/50 or less I'll go for the sure thing

I got 2/9 today, my first try. I got Freddy Sanchez on the brain... he wasn't a correct answer for any of the 4 boxes I tried him in!

I totally would’ve guessed Freddy Sanchez for Pirates .300 hitter if I had thought of him and been so bitter when I found out he hit .297. Guy was a singles machine. I ended up going with Clemente just because I couldn’t think of anyone, that killed my number.
I’ve realized though that most of my scarcity points just come from being old, because all my references are from the early 90s and the popular guesses are more current players.

⚾️ Immaculate Grid 110 9/9: Rarity: 63 IMMACULATE! 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 Play at: immaculategrid.com@immaculategrid x @baseball_ref 63! By a mile my best. I almost blew it at the end because i could’ve sworn that Alan Embree pitched in St. Louis for a year but then I remembered Eck.

I have a 0.2% answer for Cleveland/A's, but I can't for the life of me figure out anyone who played for the Cubs and got 3000 career hits... infuriating game

What was your 0.4%? I had Ricardo Rincon for that spot and was surprised to see him at 4%. I guess his inclusion in Moneyball made him a more popular guess than I would have expected.

I had Carlos Gonzalez. Was at Oakland before Colorado, then Cleveland have him a shot towards the end.

Really surprised that Carlos Santana never had a 100+ RBI season. Neither would I have guessed that he had a 110 R season in 2019.
