Awwwww, but I added the option. About 6 weeks ago in a previous thread the same issue happened. It was stated the option would beat the bid with an equal dollar amount. Stuart, Can you please provide a link to this thread? I am unaware of anywhere in the rules or elsewhere on the board where this is stated, but am happy to take a look if you can show me where it is written. Thanks, Stephen

Just curious here but how is it my bid of the same dollar amount plus an option year doesn't beat out the same dollar amount?
I also find it funny how people like to comment about minor things in posted trades, such as please add the team name or salary of a prospect, but when it comes to a bid these same people are quiet; I'm not including STL here because he's very consistent with his input.

To my knowledge there is nothing in the rules to say that bids with options beat bids without options. Rule 5(2016).7 states that the minimum increment for free agency bids is $0.1. No increment was made in this case, so the bid is invalid. TC have no responsibility or jurisdiction over free agency bids. It is the bidder's responsibility to ensure that their free agency bids are accurate and valid. Personally, if I'd seen the bid I would have pointed out that it was invalid - however with the volume of free agency bids going on I tend not to look at auctions for players I am not in on. I can only assume that other owners are similarly neglectful of auctions which do not concern them.
